Rule sets for matches


There are 3 different rulesets. Two fencers agree acording to which they will fence.


  1. Fullcontact with full equipment
  2. Blossfechten with minimal equipment
  3. Modefied/ costomised setting agreed by the 2 fencers.


1: Full contact full equipment sparring:

This traditionally is the most intensive way of fighting. This setting has some risk of injuries due to risk compensation behavior.

  • 3 minutes bout or up to 15 points of one fencer

Equipment: 

    1. Helmet,
    2. Hand protection
    3. Throat protector
    4. fencing jacket
    5. knee/ elbow protector
    6. shin/lower arm protection
    7. groin protector

Valid scores:

  • Head hits: 3 points
  • body hits: 2 points
  • leg hits: 1 point
  • arm hits 1 point

Please both agree whether the following is allowed:

  • grappling and disarms: 1 point
  • Handhits

 

2:Blossfechten with minimal equipment

Minimal allowed equipment: Additional protection is allowed and advices for beginners. Note: this setting has a risk of injuries  due to less protective equipment. Please read our policy about insurance.

  • Helmet,
  • Throatprotector, descend fencing glove.


Score: head only: 3 points, hits on other targets: agreed upon by both fencer. in the following manner

  • Headhits 3 points
  • Body 2 points
  • arm and legs 1 point
  • wrestling, domination and disarm: 1 point

up untill 15 points or 3 minutes


Please both agree whether the following is allowed:

  • Wrestling
  • Arm hits
  • Leg hits
  • Torso hits
  • Thrusts

 

3 Custom

To allow every fencer to participate, there is also the third option of a customized rule set.Both fencers can agree on a specific sets of rules. In apendix there is a file or form where rules can be modified and filled in. The set has to be clear to both parties before the start of the fight.

Examples:

  1. Duration 1 min, 2 min, 3 min. 10 hits, 10 Exchanges, 3 rounds of 3 minutes,…
  2. Equipment: we always recommend at least wearing a fencing helmet, throat protector and descend hand protection

Score for winning maches in the tournament system

     

    For this tryout tournament, the main score is either winning or losing the match and will gain respectivaly 1 or 0 points. Ties at the end of a match wil result in a “sudden death” last clean hit exchange.
